The southern front is witnessing a new surge of tension. Recently, occupying forces have intensified their use of kamikaze drones and artillery strikes. This was reported by the spokesperson for the southern military forces, Vladislav Voloshin, during a live broadcast.
"The situation is quite complex and shows signs of escalation. Over the past day, the enemy has increased the number of kamikaze drone attacks and artillery shelling, affecting not only our forces' positions but also the nearby settlements along the front line. Additionally, there has been an increase in the munitions used during these attacks," noted Voloshin.
He added that overall, there have been fewer combat engagements in the south compared to other directions.
"In the south, we recorded 13 combat encounters, eight of which occurred in the Huliaipole direction, where the enemy has been unsuccessfully trying to capture Poltavka for several days. Furthermore, four encounters took place in the Orikhiv direction, near the settlements of Kamianske and Stepove, while the enemy attempted to storm our positions near the Antonivsky bridges, all to no avail," he explained.
Voloshin also informed that near Stepove in the Orikhiv direction, Russian invaders once again employed motorcycles in their assault but faced losses and retreated.
On the frontline, 193 combat encounters between the defense forces and Russian invaders were recorded on October 6, with Ukrainian troops repelling 59 enemy attacks in the Pokrovsk direction.
