On the night of October 13, Ivan, a machine gunner from the mobile fire group of the Air Command ‘South’, showcased his skills by destroying an enemy strike drone type ‘Shahed’ in the Odesa region. This was reported in a post by the Air Command ‘South’.

This marks the sixth successful drone takedown credited to our defender.

“We worked in tandem with the spotter Sergey, just like before – clearly and in sync,” Ivan stated.

Before the full-scale invasion, 31-year-old Ivan worked as a diver at industrial sites and was a diving instructor in his hometown of Odesa. In May 2022, he rejoined the military unit where he had previously served under contract.

“Discipline and endurance are essential qualities that are important in both my previous job and in the military. They need to be developed anywhere, regardless of the circumstances. My colleagues and I constantly focus on training, monitor the condition of our weapons and equipment, and practice various scenarios. We keep ourselves fit and work at maximum capacity!” the sky defender emphasized.
