Today, on November 12, one of Odessa's boilers was forced to cease operations for six hours due to chimney reconstruction.
After the previous heating season ended, the municipal enterprise «TMO» ordered a complete inspection of all chimneys. In June, a report was received indicating that one chimney required emergency repair work on the «Northern-1» chimney.
As Deputy Mayor Anna Pozdnyakova noted, there are no similar examples of such work in the country considering the height of the chimney (120 meters). A crane with a lifting capacity of 600 tons was ordered for the job, with the crane itself weighing 970 tons.
There are very few such cranes in Ukraine, and they are all currently engaged in recovery operations for energy facilities after attacks.
«According to the schedule, the crane was supposed to be on site at «TMO» back in August. However, due to reasons beyond our control, the timeline has been significantly delayed as the equipment was performing other critical tasks. Moreover, the scale of work requires highly qualified specialists, and their availability has also proven to be a challenge. We are working under the given circumstances, which we cannot influence,» said Anna Pozdnyakova.
«TMO» apologizes for the temporary inconveniences and emphasizes that it is doing everything possible to ensure a stable and reliable heating supply for Odessa residents throughout the heating season.
