Workers from the municipal enterprise «Miskzelentrest» have initiated the process of preparing the city's greenery for the upcoming winter.

According to the approved plan, this autumn, 380 young trees will be planted in Odesa, including plane trees, catalpas, birches, acacias, sophoras, and calycanthuses. All trees are 8-10 years old and have been cultivated specifically for urban planting.

Additionally, the planting of 1500 shrubs and 3000 units of miscanthus, a perennial grass plant, is planned.

The planting work is expected to start around mid-October.

Beginning in November, the enterprise will begin winterizing its automatic irrigation systems. Currently, «Miskzelentrest» manages about 50 irrigation systems located in various districts of the city, particularly in parks and squares.

Preparations for winter have also begun at the greenhouse facility of the enterprise «Troyanda», which operates year-round. Since September, they have been setting up greenhouses for the following year.

On an area of 4000 square meters, work is already underway to insulate the greenhouses and prepare seeds for the next year. Annually, around 1 million plants are grown in the greenhouses, including 250 thousand spring flowers, 250 thousand pot flowers, and about 500 thousand other seedlings, as well as approximately 11 thousand decorative foliage trees.

Moreover, in September this year, landscapers planted 5 thousand chrysanthemum bushes in Odesa, which will bloom in a week or two and beautify the autumn city with flowers.
