The modernization and expansion of electric transport in Odesa remain key priorities for the city authorities.
Approximately 80 trams operate daily across 13 routes, with the most popular being route No. 7, while only 2 trams run on the less frequented route No. 20.
On September 30, 2024, another fully renovated Tatra T3 tram entered service.
«Despite the ongoing conflict, we are committed to enhancing public transport in Odesa. This tram was renovated using the enterprise's own funds, costing 4 million UAH, while new trams start at 18 million UAH. I appreciate the team's hard work in these challenging conditions,» said Odesa's mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov.
The renovated tram features a complete overhaul of both the exterior and interior, as well as a new management system that is 40% more economical to operate.
The mayor also mentioned the potential for installing wheelchair lift mechanisms on older Tatra models.

The Tatra T3 tram was renovated at the KP «Odesmiskelektrotrans» workshops with the enterprise's own funds. This serves as a unique example of capital renovation.
For the first time, the interior and driver's cabin were updated, new seating was installed, and a heating and cooling system was added, with windows replaced using a bonding method. Plans are in place for another similar tram by the end of 2024, and two more in 2025.
Additionally, at the beginning of 2024, two units of the Tatra T-3-Od model were refurbished and are successfully operating on the «North – South» route. They underwent a major repair with upgrades to the management system and interior funded by the budget.
In 2025, similar major repairs and upgrades are planned for four more trams.
