On September 27, 2024, a strategic meeting took place in Odesa involving representatives from the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region, the Southern Interregional Directorate of the Ministry of Justice, as well as executives from the Odesa City Council and directors of municipal enterprises.

The meeting, initiated by the Department of Finance of the City Council, focused on exploring ways to increase the revenue side of Odesa's budget and ensure its execution in the current fiscal year.

The main topic identified during the meeting was that collaboration and establishing communication among all participants should be key instruments for enhancing budget execution in 2024 and formulating an optimal budget for 2025.

The meeting featured an active dialogue where participants discussed various current issues arising due to the war that hinder effective cooperation.

Particular attention was given to proposals for addressing problems related to the revenue side of the budget, identifying new income sources, and the necessity of updating the database of taxpayers for land and real estate.

Ensuring the execution of the Odesa City Territorial Community budget will enable the city to maintain its operations, provide assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and offer social support to defenders and their families.

Following the meeting, a plan for joint actions will be developed to enhance the revenue side of the city budget by expanding the tax base.
