The head of the KFOR representation in Odesa, Anders Johansen, along with his team, expressed respect for local law enforcement officers and assured them of their support in combating aggression from Russia.

The police, led by the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region, Ivan Zhuk, informed about the challenges they are currently facing. Discussions included crimes committed by enemy forces, ensuring civilian safety, and combating transnational crime, including drug and arms trafficking.

During the dialogue, special attention was given to the modernization and the need for increased police resources, which are critical for fulfilling assigned tasks.

European partners emphasized their readiness to support the Odesa police in these challenging conditions and provide comprehensive assistance to enhance their effectiveness, particularly through experience sharing and the provision of modern equipment.

The regional police chief expressed gratitude to mission representatives for their ongoing support and cooperation.
