In order to improve the health of Odessa residents, the Health Department of the City Council has launched new prevention and early diagnosis programs as part of the City Target Program "Health" for 2024-2026.

In 2024, 29 Health Days for adults and children were organized, enhancing public awareness about the risks and prevention methods of the most common diseases.

The main goal of these events is to inform Odessa citizens about the importance of early disease detection and encourage a healthy lifestyle.

During the events, medical professionals conducted free screenings, including ophthalmological, dental, dermatological, gynecological, and urological examinations. They measured blood pressure, blood glucose levels, body mass, and performed laboratory tests.

Since the beginning of the year, 40,911 individuals have participated in the events, of which 37,384 were adults and 3,527 were children. Among them, 13,378 underwent cancer screenings.

All patients with detected health issues were referred to specialists for further examination. Timely diagnosis is key to successful treatment.

This year, there was also a focus on mental health, under the program "How are you?" initiated by the First Lady Olena Zelenska. During the Mental Health Awareness Month, psychological support was provided to around 1,000 residents of Odessa.
