"Ukrposhta" has announced the release of new postage stamps featuring lighthouses located along the Black and Azov Seas, including those situated in temporarily occupied Crimea.
This set is part of the "Lighthouses of Ukraine" series that was initiated in 2009, the company reported.
The release of this year's stamps coincides with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the State Hydrographic Service, which maintains Ukrainian lighthouses.
"This time, the stamps will tell the stories of the lighthouses of the Black and Azov Seas, as well as the Crimean lighthouses, which, although temporarily occupied, remain an inseparable part of Ukraine in both maps and the hearts of Ukrainians", the "Ukrposhta" representatives explained.
The new stamp set features:
- the Ai-Todor and Chaudyn lighthouses in Crimea;
- the Shagansky lighthouse in Odesa region;
- the Bilosarai and Berdyansk Upper lighthouses in the Sea of Azov;
- the Russian Rear lighthouse on the Bug-Dnipro-Lyman Canal in Mykolaiv region.
