The Odesa region is in the final stages of repairing a bridge that connects the ports of Izmail and Kiliya.

This was reported by the State Agency for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine.

Experts have completed the installation of the upper layer of asphalt concrete on the bridge structure and its approaches.

Currently, road signs are being installed, embankments are being reinforced, and the bridge is being painted. Once these tasks are completed, grass will be sown on the slopes, and road markings will be applied.

The bridge over the Kofa Canal on the T-16-07 road Izmail – Kiliya – Vylkove holds significant logistical importance, connecting the Izmail and Kiliya river ports, as well as four communities in the Izmail district.

«Thanks to the capital renovation of the bridge, the movement of civilian vehicles, ambulances, school buses, emergency services, and freight transport will be expedited,» the agency emphasized.

The bridge over the Kofa Canal was built in the 1960s and is located on the T-16-07 state highway Izmail – Kiliya – Vylkove. In 2021, it was declared emergency and closed after a hole formed in the middle, causing the entire structure to warp.
