Odessa's Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov participated in a meeting of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba.

The agenda focused on establishing transportation and pedestrian routes in 15 pilot cities.

Odessa has joined the flagship project «Movement Without Barriers», involving the longest inclusive tram route in Ukraine, «North-South».

«Over the past few years, comprehensive work has been carried out: replacing tracks, modernizing key transport hubs, and upgrading the rolling stock. In addition to tram services, plans are in place for a pedestrian inclusive route. Currently, a thorough inspection of the relevant locations is underway. A budget of 127 million hryvnias has been allocated. The city will cover a significant portion of the costs, but we also expect support from regional and state authorities», - stated Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov.

The mayor also emphasized the importance of creating an inclusive space in the coastal area, which is an integral part of developing an accessible environment in Odessa. Specifically, work is ongoing to establish special ramps, beach areas, and adapted infrastructure for people with disabilities and those with limited mobility.

We are committed to making urban spaces comfortable and accessible for everyone, including barrier-free seaside recreation.
