Ukrposhta has announced the release of new stamps that pay tribute to the resilient spirit of Ukrainian mothers. The presentation took place in honor of Mother's Day, as reported by company representatives.
According to Ukrposhta, the new stamps will serve as a "symbol of gratitude and respect for Ukrainian mothers".
"Despite the challenges of war, Ukrainians continue to honor the women who have raised a strong nation. The new stamp is dedicated to all mothers who have blessed their children to defend their homeland, to those who remember the fallen whose lives cannot be extinguished by enemy bullets, and to mothers who have taken up arms to fight for their children's future in a free and independent Ukraine", the postal service explained.
The new stamp "For Mother's Day. I Live Through You..." depicts the embrace of a woman in traditional Ukrainian attire and a soldier.
"The woman, symbolizing motherhood, wraps her son in a bright yellow embroidered scarf, her face expressing deep sorrow and tenderness", Ukrposhta added.
The author of this special miniature is the honored artist of Ukraine, Oleksandr Okhapkin, who is also known for creating the stamp "Under the Protection of the Mother of God".
The print run for the new stamp will be 320,000 copies. Ukrposhta will also release 20,000 "First Day" envelopes and 500 presentation folders. The special cancellation with the "First Day" stamp is planned to take place in Kyiv, with special cancellations in all regions of the country.
The official release of the stamp "For Mother's Day. I Live Through You..." is set for May 9.
