The Greek Park in Odessa has officially unveiled a new sculpture titled «Time», created by the talented sculptor Mykhailo Reva.
This sculpture depicts a Greek hero holding a shattered amphora, symbolizing the fragility of the universe, the fleeting nature of time, and the value of our creations.
During the opening ceremony, Odessa's mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov emphasized that this park is not just a space but a philosophy of life, built in collaboration with the Greek community and a renowned artist.
«The Garden of Life is our symbol: we continue to create, build, and grow, even in the most challenging times,» said Hennadiy Trukhanov.
Consul General of the Hellenic Republic in Odessa, Christos Zacharopoulos, mentioned that the history of Odessa and Greece began here, on these streets, and the Greek Park represents our unity today.
Pantaleimon Bumburas, an honorary citizen of Odessa and patron, highlighted that supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a matter of honor for his family, but preserving culture and bringing joy to people is equally important.
«Art cannot win a war, but it can heal souls, bring light, and tell the world: we love life, we cherish peace, we strive to create. This message we pass on further, as Odessa is a city that always inspires,» said the sculptor Mykhailo Reva during the unveiling.
The first part of the «Garden of Life» exhibition was opened on June 5, 2021, when Mykhailo Reva presented a trio of sculptures: «Birth of the Soul», «Paradise Apple Tree», and «Apple of Life». According to the author's vision, there will be 13 sculptures in the Greek Park, each symbolizing a particular parable about birth, spiritual development, harmony, and the connection between humans and nature.
