Today, June 7, in the village of Zatoka, part of the Karolino-Buhaz community, a tragic event unfolded. 

Preliminary reports indicate that two men drowned as a result of an explosion from an unidentified object while swimming in the sea.


The identities of the deceased are currently being established.

An investigative team from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi police department, specialists from the explosives unit of the National Police of Ukraine in the Odessa region, and State Emergency Service personnel are working at the scene.


Authorities are determining the full circumstances of the incident, and a decision is being made regarding the entry of information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under paragraph 1, part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, marked as an 'accident'.

Police urge residents and guests of Odessa to strictly adhere to the rules of martial law: do not enter beach areas along the Black Sea coast of Odessa that are prohibited. Please do not neglect safety measures and only visit those beaches verified for safety.
