The National Bank of Ukraine has detected a new threat – the distribution of emails containing harmful attachments that impersonate official communications from the NBU. The subject line and filename may include elements that resemble authentic documents.
This information was confirmed by the NBU press service.
According to their report, scammers are using various email addresses to send out these messages, but they include a fake e-mail signature: nbu@gov.nbu.ua, which mimics the official domain of the National Bank.
The NBU has urged citizens not to download any attached files and to avoid clicking on links in such emails.
Additionally, NBU representatives emphasized that employees only use corporate email with the domain @bank.gov.ua for official correspondence.
