A new inclusive beach has been launched in Odesa at the 11th station of the Great Fountain, adhering to all international standards of accessibility, safety, and ecological sustainability.
The official opening of the renovated municipal beach, which has received the «AES Standard» certificate, took place on July 1st.
The beach renovation serves as a model of inclusive infrastructure. Thanks to the efforts of the city authorities, expert groups, and builders, the project was completed in a timely manner.
The inclusive beach features special ramps, modern restrooms, and shower facilities designed for individuals with disabilities. It also includes a medical point and shelter. Additionally, after the renovation, the beach has accessible routes and elements of inclusive infrastructure, verified by experts and users.
The opening was attended by military veterans, persons with disabilities, families with children, and elderly individuals.
«Today, residents can see that the updated beach has been created with care and consideration for everyone. We continue to systematically work on enhancing accessibility, developing rehabilitation services, and fostering a barrier-free environment, including on Odesa's coastline,» said Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.
Recently, an inclusive multi-sport playground was also opened at the «Dolphin» beach.
