The Odesa Academic Ukrainian Musical and Drama Theater named after Vasyl Vasylyk has unveiled a memorial plaque dedicated to the outstanding Ukrainian theater and film artist, as well as Righteous Among the Nations, Heinrich Ostashevsky.

His life symbolizes dedication to art, truth, and humanity. With over 45 years of service to the theater and more than 60 years in acting, he shed light through the darkness of history. Ostashevsky's talent embodies the strength of the Ukrainian spirit, and his legacy will remain in the hearts of audiences and loved ones.

Heinrich Ostashevsky is one of the Righteous Among the Nations who, during times of evil, chose to take action. By sheltering a Jewish family, he saved lives and defended the essence of humanity.

The unveiling of the memorial plaque serves as a call to remember, to act with dignity, and to continue the work of those who did good in the darkest moments of history.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Jewish community, cultural figures, local and regional authorities, clergy, and the theatrical community.
