In Odessa, the demolition of residential buildings damaged by Russian drones is underway.
Today, July 17, an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee has approved the decision to assign the Department of Urban Development of Odessa City Council as the contractor for urgent emergency measures.
According to the technical conclusion and the decision of the regional TEB and NS commission, a partial demolition of five buildings is proposed: four near the train station and one on Serednya Street. Two houses on Novoselsky Street (one of them partially) and a private house on Vinogradna Street have been deemed unsuitable for restoration.
«Their owners will be able to apply for compensation under the state program eRecovery and receive housing certificates for purchasing new homes», - noted the mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov.
Regarding the five partially destroyed buildings, the city authorities will provide support for their restoration. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, a total of 3,232 objects have been damaged in Odessa, of which 1,295 are residential buildings.
«All our actions are not just a technical reaction to the consequences of enemy attacks, but a manifestation of responsibility towards people who have lost their roofs over their heads. The city government continues to seek resources and partners among state structures and international organizations to provide essential support. We are also mobilizing internal reserves: specialists, infrastructure, volunteer initiatives to respond quickly and appropriately», - commented Gennady Trukhanov.
