On November 8, 2024, the International Cultural Center UNION hosted a special anniversary evening for Elena Shevchenko, a renowned host of international jazz competitions and festivals, titled «Jazz: Tradition and Innovation». 

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the arts, Elena Shevchenko was presented with a valuable award from the Mayor of Odessa and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Culture of the Odessa City Council.  

A respected musicologist and instructor at the College of Arts, Elena is the founder of a jazz club named after M. Holoshchapov and is lovingly referred to as the «Queen of Jazz» for her significant influence on the genre. 

During the creative evening, her students and colleagues showcased impressive jazz performances. Young musicians from Art Schools No. 1, 3, and 4 energized the event with their talent. 

The evening concluded with a spectacular jam session, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
