«Journey into the Inner World», art therapy and spring awakening: a new exhibition of Gennady Kim opens at the Bleschunov House.

At the exhibition of artist, theologian, and educator Gennady Kim titled «Journey into the Inner World», visitors will explore new works created over the past two years. During this period, the artist has developed a unique art therapy program that includes creative meetings for those interested, where he invites participants to explore their inner states through color.

Gennady Kim works in the technique of pointillism, using the effect of optical color mixing that allows for the creation of complex artistic effects that cannot be achieved through mechanical methods.

Maria Apryatova, the curator of exhibitions at the Bleschunov Museum, notes: «Kim impressively masters this technique: he conveys the subtlest nuances of color that can only be observed in nature and is able to express even the shades of the sacred space.»

In his new compositions, Kim uses acrylic paint for the first time, giving his works a more contrasting appearance. The main idea of his painting is to convey the invisible world through visible means of visual art.

«This approach allows us to feel thoughts and ideas through color and composition. The painting is a reflection of the unknown, an expression through visible images of what is difficult to explain in words. These principles have formed the basis for art therapy, which enables us to understand and resolve spiritual and emotional issues of our inner world through color,» says Gennady Kim.

The exhibition will be held at the Odessa Museum of Personal Collections named after O.V. Bleschunov from March 20 to April 15, 2025.

Visiting hours: Thursday to Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
