Hennadiy Trukhanov, the Mayor of Odesa, held an important meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Ukraine, Ma Shengkung, who visited Odesa for the first time since his appointment in November 2024.

During the meeting, Ambassador Ma emphasized China's hope for a swift resolution to the conflict in Ukraine, reiterating the importance of territorial integrity.

«We clearly communicate this position to all nations. China is working diligently to bring an end to this tragedy», the Ambassador stated.

He highlighted the strategic partnership between China and Ukraine, discussing prospects for joint efforts, particularly in the context of post-war reconstruction.

Ambassador Ma recognized Odesa's significant role as a logistics and industrial hub, expressing willingness to support the development of infrastructure projects and business initiatives. Chinese entrepreneurs have already shown interest in collaborating with Odesa.

The Mayor presented the city’s plans for attracting investments and enhancing international ties, recalling that the visit to China initiated the creation of industrial parks in Odesa.

«The Ambassador's presence in Odesa is a strong signal of readiness for constructive dialogue», emphasized Trukhanov.

He also thanked the Chinese people for their consistent stance on peace and recognition of Ukraine's borders and independence.
