The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, met with leaders from the Moldovan communities of Leova, Tudor, and Stefan-Voda, namely, Oleksandr Buzhoryan, Veronika Mokan, and Vladislav Kocho.
The meeting was part of intermunicipal cooperation and a memorandum signed during a roundtable aimed at strengthening partnerships between Ukraine and Moldova.
Participants discussed the development of their communities and shared interests, particularly the 20,000-strong Moldovan community residing in the Odesa region.
Veronika Mokan emphasized that the border town of Tudor has taken in twice as many Ukrainian refugees as its own population since the onset of the full-scale war and continues to provide support.
Mayor Vladislav Kocho from Stefan-Voda personally gathered humanitarian aid and delivered it to Ukraine, maintaining constant communication with Ukrainian communities.
The parties also addressed common challenges on the path to European integration, where Mayor Oleksandr Buzhoryan discussed the administrative-territorial reform in Moldova.
Moreover, issues of energy resilience, transport corridor development, infrastructure modernization, and security were raised, focusing on finding solutions based on trust, solidarity, and shared European values.
