The Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office has submitted an indictment to the court against a healthcare worker from a medical facility in Odesa for treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Investigators have determined that the accused voluntarily assisted Russian intelligence in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine. As a reward for his 'services,' the agent anticipated a leadership position in the occupying administration if the region were captured.
The individual 'betrayed' the locations of military personnel from the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Border Guard Service, and Maritime Guard in the Izmail district.
Another task assigned to him was monitoring the dynamics of vessels entering the local port and the types of cargo they carried.
This information was used by the occupiers to prepare new and adjust previous strikes on the Danube region of Odesa.
Specific data regarding the whereabouts of Ukrainian defenders and military infrastructure, including buildings and geographical coordinates, was transmitted to an FSB officer in Russia via one of the messaging apps.
Law enforcement apprehended the agent in August 2024, and a mobile phone containing evidence of his criminal activities was seized during a search.
Currently, at the request of the prosecution, he is in custody.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
