Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has reported 8 cases of train surfing, resulting in injuries to 9 children. Just a few seconds of thrill can cost lives.

Remember:

Electric shocks, falls, or collisions rarely provide a second chance.

Why is train surfing not just dangerous, but potentially fatal?

Voltages up to 27,000 volts can deliver instantaneous shocks even without direct contact with wires.

A fall from height – one wrong move, and life can change forever.

Collisions with obstacles – bridges, tunnels, poles at speeds of 60-100 km/h can be fatal.

What to do if you see someone on a train or transport step?

  • Notify the station staff or railway workers.
  • Call the Ukrainian Railways hotline: 0 800 503 111 (free).
  • Contact the National Police (102) or Emergency Services (101).
  • Remember the location of the incident for accurate reporting to authorities.

Parents, your vigilance is key to your children's safety!

Talk to teenagers about the dangers of train surfing.

Monitor their social media content – extreme videos can encourage risky behavior.

Pay attention to new interests – a sudden fascination with transportation or extreme videos may be a warning sign.

TEENS, THINK ABOUT IT!

Likes on social media are worthless if you risk your life.

If friends suggest train surfing – say "no"!

If you see someone planning a dangerous stunt, inform an adult or call 102. Your awareness could save a life!
