The case regarding a traffic accident has been submitted to the court. The driver faces restrictions on freedom due to traffic violations.

The accident occurred in one of the villages of the Lyman community.

During the preliminary investigation, it was established that a 47-year-old local woman, while driving a «Chery» vehicle, was inattentive, did not maintain a safe speed, and hit a 15-year-old girl who was crossing the road, though she had the opportunity to avoid it.

As a result of the accident, the child suffered injuries, including pelvic fractures, which, according to the forensic expert's conclusion, are classified as moderate bodily harm.

The driver of the car was unharmed. She was tested for alcohol – she was sober.

During the investigation, the vehicle was placed in an impound lot, and a series of expert examinations were ordered.

According to Eduard Kolomiyets, the head of the police department No. 2 of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, after gathering sufficient evidence, the police investigators charged the driver with violating traffic safety rules, resulting in moderate bodily harm to the victim. The investigation is complete, and the indictment under part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been sent to court.

The offender faces up to three years of restriction of freedom and the deprivation of the right to drive for the same period.

We urge drivers to strictly adhere to traffic rules:

- in populated areas, the speed limit should not exceed 50 km/h;

- actions of road users must not pose danger or obstruction to others;

- drivers are obliged to be attentive and not to be distracted from driving.

Dear drivers. Take care of yourselves and others. Do not violate traffic rules!
