A woman in Odessa, with connections in the Maritime Training Inspection, was arrested while attempting to receive a bribe of $1700. She promised a man help in obtaining a training certificate and a seaman's passport for $3400.
The police, with the support of the State Maritime Transport Service, apprehended the offender during the reception of part of the bribe. Money and a seaman's passport issued in 2022 were confiscated.
The woman was charged under Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a penalty of up to eight years imprisonment with asset forfeiture.
The procedural supervision is carried out by the Odessa District Prosecutor's Office.
