The offender promised to remove a person from the wanted list for a reward of 3 thousand dollars. He has been informed of the suspicion and could face up to 10 years of imprisonment.
It has been established that the official, responsible for mobilization records, was involved in corrupt activities. He demanded 3000 dollars from a conscript who violated military registration rules, promising to remove him from the wanted list.
The money was handed over in two installments, with him sending a subordinate to collect it.
After the second part of the bribe, amounting to 2000 dollars, was delivered, the offender was detained. The funds were seized as evidence.
After gathering sufficient evidence, investigators informed the detainee of the suspicion under Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for receiving an unlawful benefit. This crime carries a penalty of up to 10 years of imprisonment and the possibility of confiscation of property.
The court has imposed a preventive measure of detention with the right to post bail set at 1 million 211 thousand 200 hryvnias.
The investigation continues under the supervision of the Odessa Specialized Prosecutor's Office.
