In the Odesa region, police uncovered a corruption case involving the manager of a dormitory in a military settlement. The 66-year-old woman demanded $4,500 from a serviceman, promising to facilitate the improvement of his living conditions through "necessary" individuals in the KEV leadership. The woman has been charged, and the court has imposed a preventive measure of detention.

Investigators documented the criminal activities of the dormitory manager in collaboration with the military counterintelligence department of the SBU. According to the investigation, in June, the official promised a 25-year-old serviceman assistance in securing housing from the KEV fund, which he and his family were entitled to without external interference.

The serviceman, facing demands for an unlawful benefit, sought help from law enforcement. In July, the manager contacted him again, insisting on an immediate transfer of the agreed sum, stating that the sooner she received the money, the sooner the housing issue would be resolved.

After the money was handed over, the manager was detained in her office, and the funds were confiscated. Investigators gathered sufficient evidence to charge her with corruption. Under Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, she faces up to eight years of imprisonment with property confiscation.

The court has selected a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of bail set at 408,780 hryvnias, which she utilized.

The pre-trial investigation continues under the supervision of the Odesa Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector. The full circle of individuals involved in this crime is being established.
