In Odesa, two men who promised to help avoid military conscription for $11,000 are facing trial. They tried to influence officials from the TCC and SP but were caught by law enforcement while receiving a bribe. The investigation is complete, and the case has been forwarded to court.
The offenders, aged 28 and 45, were uncovered in early July by police and SBU officers. They found a conscripted man and, boasting about their connections, offered him a fake certificate for exemption from conscription due to caring for a 'sick' father, who was actually healthy. Their services were valued at $11,000.
During the documentation of the crime, the offenders were arrested after receiving the first installment of the bribe amounting to $5,000. The police seized documents and money that confirmed their criminal activities. The court imposed a preventive measure of detention with the possibility of bail. The case has been sent to court under Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for up to five years of imprisonment.
