Recently, the 2025/2026 Ukrainian Hockey Championship kicked off. This season, five teams are competing in the national league, with two from Kyiv. Here is the list of participants:

  • HC «Kremenchuk» (Kremenchuk, Poltava region)
  • HC «Sokil» (Kyiv)
  • HC «Kryzhynka-Capitals» (Kyiv)
  • HC «Storm» (Odesa)
  • HC «Odeshchyna» (Odesa)

Compared to last season, there are some notable changes. Unfortunately, the Kherson team «Dnipro» is not participating this time, but a new team has emerged — HC «Odeshchyna». An interesting situation has arisen with last season's vice-champion from Kyiv, the «Kyiv Capitals», which, with permission from the UHF, has entered its main team into the Baltic Hockey League (an international league uniting clubs from Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and now Ukraine). In the Ukrainian Championship, only the farm team «Kryzhynka-Capitals» remains, consisting of young players and those not included in the main squad.

Kyiv's «Sokil» played their first match against Odesa's «Storm» and achieved a comeback victory despite trailing by two goals during the game.

«SOKIL» — «STORM» — 3:2 (0:1, 1:1, 2:0)

«KREMENCHUK» — «KRYZHYNKA-CAPITALS» — 6:1 (4:0; 0:1; 2:0)

The next match for «Kryzhynka-Capitals» will be on Wednesday, October 15, against «Storm», while «Sokil» will face «Odeshchyna» the following day.
