The Ukrainian national team had a successful outing in the second match of the Canadian Shield friendly tournament, facing New Zealand.
The game ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of coach Serhiy Rebrov's side.

The first 15 minutes unfolded quite calmly. Rebrov's team struggled to overcome the opponent's pressing despite having possession of the ball.
A dangerous moment arose in the 16th minute. Pikhaliok crossed, Hutsuliak won the aerial duel and shot, but goalkeeper Max Krokomb denied him.
Another opportunity came in the 32nd minute. Hutsuliak shot again, but Krokomb intervened a second time. Kabayev was first to the rebound, but his attempt went over the bar.
In the 54th minute, the blue-and-yellow team opened the scoring. Zabarnyi found Kabayev with a diagonal pass, who then set up Hutsuliak. Oleksii quickly controlled the ball and fired a precise shot into the near corner.
Shortly after, the Oceanian representatives equalized. Following a corner kick, Boksoll won the battle and laid it off to Stamenich, who scored from close range.
In the 74th minute, Oleksandr Zinchenko entered the field, and within a minute, the Arsenal player netted a goal. Oleksandr Martyniuk, making his debut for the national team, provided the assist.
In the final moments, Darren Beazley brought on New Zealand's star player Chris Wood, but even the experienced forward couldn't save the future participant of the 2026 World Cup from defeat.
