Ukraine has completed another phase of repatriation efforts - 1200 deceased bodies have been returned

Today, the repatriation efforts continued in accordance with agreements made in Istanbul. An additional 1200 bodies have been returned to Ukraine, claimed by the Russian side to belong to Ukrainian citizens, including military personnel.

In the near future, law enforcement agencies, together with experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will conduct all necessary examinations and identify the repatriated bodies.

These repatriation actions were made possible through the joint work of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat for Missing Persons, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and other security sector structures.

We express our gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance.

Special thanks to the personnel of the Central Administration of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Joint Center for ensuring the transportation of the repatriated individuals to designated state specialized institutions.
