The government has decided to allocate funds for 60 projects aimed at establishing shelters in educational institutions, including 6 in the Odesa region.

Funding is primarily directed towards communities with heightened security risks – where the presence of shelters is critical.

The first shelters will be constructed in schools of the Kodim, Lyman, Mayaki (2 facilities), Vygodianska, and Kulyalnytska communities.

Project selection was conducted via the electronic platform DREAM, which will also allow monitoring of the entire construction and reporting process.

The working group of the Odesa Regional State Administration, led by the First Deputy Head Oleksandr Kharlov, facilitated support for applications from our region.

We expect the government to approve an additional 50 projects that have been agreed upon by the Ministry of Education Commission. This includes additional funding for the construction of 3 bomb shelters in Dobroslav, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, and Molohiv communities, as well as the inclusion of a shelter for a school in the Vylkivska community in the funding list.

A safe educational environment is not just about comfort but also about ensuring protection for every child and educator. We continue to work towards ensuring that all educational institutions in Odesa have reliable shelters!
