The recent study conducted by the NBU indicates that Ukrainian teenagers exhibit a limited understanding of financial principles.
The average score for correct answers on case tasks is only 46.6%,
equivalent to 3 points in a 12-point grading system.
The highest results were shown by students from Dnipropetrovsk (57.4%), Ivano-Frankivsk (53.7%) regions, and Kyiv (50.4%).
The lowest scores were recorded in Kirovohrad (37.4%), Mykolaiv (39.7%), and Chernivtsi (41.4%) regions.
Girls outperformed boys with a score of 47.4% compared to 45.6%. Urban students scored 48%, while rural students scored 40%.
No participant achieved 100% correct answers across all questions.
The study was conducted by specialists from the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research named after O. Yaremenko in April 2024, testing over 3000 students aged 14 to 17 from 19 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv.
