Residents of the building on Prince Yaroslav the Wise Street, which suffered damage from a drone strike on the night of May 1, are beginning to return to their homes.
The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, informed the owners of the first entrance that they could return home starting Monday. The stabilization work has reached a stage where the safety of residents can be guaranteed. Over the weekend, the building will be connected to all necessary utilities, and construction debris will be cleared from the surrounding area.
According to the contractors, stabilization work is expected to be completed by the end of June. Resettlement of the second entrance is scheduled to begin in early July, except for apartments that were at the epicenter of the explosion. A separate reconstruction project will be developed for them once the building stabilization is complete.
Owners of destroyed apartments can receive compensation for housing rental from the Kyiv district administration until they can return to their restored apartments.
