The Mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, held an online meeting with the Mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban. They greeted each other and their respective communities on the 30th anniversary of their partnership, while discussing current issues and future collaboration opportunities.
Previously, at the Summit of European City Mayors in Strasbourg, both mayors highlighted the importance of local governance in societal development and the implementation of infrastructure projects.
Continuing their dialogue, Ion Ceban noted that Moldova is currently executing several joint projects with Romania and sees the potential for trilateral cooperation.
Trukhanov and Ceban agreed to establish a trilateral working group to develop joint projects in infrastructure, economy, and social support, aiming to ensure sustainable development of cities and strengthen cooperation among Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania.
This initiative will help attract additional resources, promote experience sharing, and provide support to Ukrainians in challenging wartime conditions.
