Odessa has welcomed a new shipment of equipment from Japan - 10 fire trucks and a delivery truck.
Six of the fire trucks have been handed over to the municipal enterprise «Miskzelentrest», and four trucks along with the delivery truck were allocated to «City Roads». This enterprise is responsible for maintaining order on the city's streets and at public transport stops. During the war, they also collaborate with the housing maintenance service to address the aftermath of attacks.

As needed, all fire trucks are utilized for water delivery. For instance, municipal workers from Odessa transported water to neighboring Mykolaiv when the city was without water for several months. They also supplied water to the State Emergency Service for extinguishing large-scale fires.

Following attacks on the energy infrastructure, when Odessa was left without electricity, water, and heating, the fire trucks were used to deliver water to areas lacking access to wells.

«I am grateful to our Japanese friends for their incredible support. I wish health and prosperity to our country. May 2025 bring new opportunities for cooperation with Japan and the implementation of joint projects for the recovery and development of Odessa!» - stated the mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov.
