The Director General of the Middle East and Europe Department, Tohama Kei, met with the Director of the Economic Development Department of Odessa City Council, Andriy Rozov, at the #JICA headquarters.

«JICA is a vital international partner for Odessa. Our collaboration with Japan, especially in waste management, water treatment facilities, and training programs, is crucial for the people of Odessa during these challenging times,» emphasized Andriy Rozov.

Mr. Tohama expressed his respect and solidarity with the residents of Odessa who face daily aggression, reaffirming JICA’s continuous support for the city. He also praised the close and effective cooperation between Odessa and Yokohama, two sister port cities for 60 years.
 
Recently, students in Odessa received 305 laptops from Yokohama and Nojima Corporation with the support of JICA. Odessa’s Mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, expressed his gratitude to the Japanese friends for their unwavering support and gifts for the children in a video appeal.
