The All-Ukrainian Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament, known as the «Black Sea Cup», took place in Odesa, featuring dozens of young athletes from across the country. A standout performance was delivered by 9-year-old Alexandra Pascal, whose story has become a symbol of resilience.
In May 2022, during a Russian missile strike on the resort village of Zatoka, Sasha suffered severe injuries that led to the amputation of her leg. However, she refused to give up—using a modern bionic prosthesis, she returned to training and her beloved sport.
At the tournament in Odesa, Alexandra earned a gold medal. It was noted that her performance became a true symbol of resilience, inspiring all spectators. She received thunderous applause, and the judges highly valued not only her technique but also the strength of character that Sasha demonstrated on the mat.
The girl confidently stated, «My work is motivation, strength, and a path to my goals. If you think someone pities me—no. I just move forward and do what I love».
